After resolving this issue, I noticed that some of my apps are no longer installed.

I went to the iTunes store to reinstall them, but they're listed with a purchase price - even though I already paid for them. How can I get them reinstalled without having to pay for them a second time?

They should be a free download. Are you sure you trying to buy the right app? Check you purchase history.

I'm sure... I checked with several apps. For example, one of the missing apps is "Ravensword." There's no other app with a remotely similar name. I notice that on my machine at home, it's still listed in iTunes. But it's not on my Touch.

Then sync it to your iPod.

Just redownload it, iTunes will tell you that it's already been purchased and that you can redownload it for free.

They always are listed with a purchase price. If you are on the account you downloaded it to then when you click on the price it will tell you that you have already paid for it so this re-download is free.

Does anyone see a problem with this? If, say, you downloaded Pocket God on your computer and didn't sync it and wanted to download it on your iPod, you have no indication you can download the app for free. In fact, you don't see it's free until after you've hit "purchase" and punched in your password, at which point you have authorized a payment.

This really bugs me because it's the same way on iTunes on a computer

Haha, yea I agree. That really bugs me, but I guess that's when your 'Purchase History' will come in handy. And all those receipts from Apple.

Purchase history is ok but I know I've downloaded some X-Plane apps, now which ones? If I'm away from a computer how can I check? Especially since I got them months ago and they're buried behind sales of free apps. =/
