    Hi,

I jailbroke my iPod after downgrading to 1.1.1 and then installed Oktoprep. Everything worked perfectly. Then, I updated it in iTunes and ran jailbreak.jar.

Again, this seemed to work but then the iPod went into recovery mode. iTunes will only let me restore it - should I do this, or is there some way of bringing back everything that I had on the jailbroken iPod?

    Thanks very much.

To me it sounds like you have not killed all of the Apple applications that are running BEFORE you jailbreak 1.1.2.

Just close itunes and disconnect your ipod and then reconnect it.

I have tried the whole process again, and again I have used terminal to close eveything related to iTunes. It says at the end of the process that the 'iPod will reboot a couple of times' but this never happens. I tried the option to do it from recovery, which simply stopped half-way.

Is there something I can do, or must I restore the iPod again?

    Thanks!

Yes - and also the guide in another thread from Lemures. I've tried disconnecting it etc. but it remains in recovery mode.

I've tried this countless times (by holding down the sleep and home buttons) but it just turns off and the same screen appears when I turn it on again. I've tried on my PC and the 'the iPod cannot connect' message comes up. Any suggestions, please - this is becoming annoying!

    Thanks.
