A friend of my niece gave me her Ipod Touch to check out. It appears to have a leaf burnt into the screen accompanied by black bars running vertically down the screen and a rainbow of colors running horizontal. You can see the time barely. Tried doing a restore, didn't work. The Ipod shows up in Itunes along with the info contained on it.

Anybody have any idea what's happened and is there anything to do for it. It appears to be 1st generation, 8 gig.

Looks like something is burned into the screen. Other than sending it to Apple for repair, I don't know what to do for it.

You'll need to replace the digitazter. Looks like she dropped her iPod in a fire
    pit?
