i've tried 3 different tutorials on how to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 and every time after its done jailbreaking the 1.1.2 it says its in recovery mode.

This is what I did 3 times:
    Restore ipod with 1.1.1
    jail break
    install oktoprep
    upgrade to 1.1.2
use the jailbreak app thing to jailbreak
then after its done jailbreaking it reboots then says its in recovery mode

    Please help.

You have to use independance....I've never had to do it but quite a few people needed to use it to get out of Recovery Mode...search the forums

If the iTunes and cable are coming up after you have jailbroken, go here and download this to your computer - http://www.appsafari.com/software/1373/independence/

Launch it with your Touch attached but iTunes off. Might need to do it a second time. You should now be capable of rebooting into a jailbroken 1.1.2 touch
