I have jailbroken my 1st gen ipod touch many times, but for some reason 2.2.1 doesn't want to work with me. I would use QuickPwn to jailbreak and the programs runs fine and at the end it says that my ipod has been successfully jailbroken. Then when it restarts, it won't get past the apple logo when it boots up. I was able to put it in DFU mode and restore it in iTunes, but when I try to jailbreak it again, the same thing happens. Can anyone help me? Just in case anyone wanted to know, I am running XP Pro with SP3.

If you're on Vista make sure you run Quickpawn as 'Run as Administrator..' (Right Click the program you'll see it there on the drop down menu..)

This happened to me before and it solved my problem..

I had a similar problem when jailbreaking my 1st gen ipod touch yesterday. It would get stuck on the boot logo after the jailbreak, (Tried this twice). I think it wouldn't boot because of an application that was installed. Here's what I did to get it to jailbreak.

    1. Restored to apple firmware 2.2.1
    2. Did not recover profile or sync, quit Itunes.
    3. Jailbroke w/ quickpwn 2.2.5-2, it booted fine no problems.
    4. Recovered original profile w/ apps and music.
    5. After recovery jailbreak was good and apps, music restored.

I was using win 7 but I would think the same process would work on XP sp3
