I've finished jailbreaking my 2.1 using QuickPwn, and it has just shown the screen:

"The Pwnage process appears to have completed successfully

Please wait for your device to reboot in it's newly modified state"

I've waited for like 5 minutes, and it is still showing the start up screen with the apple logo....... This is my jailbreaking attempt, and I'm worried

    What shall I do?

Also, I cannot run iTunes with my ipod plugged it. It just hangs.

Same problem here also. Ive used QuickPwn to jailbreak my ipod several times, and it has always worked. Now when I try it, it hangs on the boot logo, and I have to do a restore. I've restored as a new ipod, tried reloading the official quickpwn program as well as Morphey's version. Same thing every time... frozen boot logo and just keeps trying to restart. I've searched all the advice here and nothing seems to help. The only thing that is different is I updated itunes to 8.1, but I didnt think quickpwn had anything to do with itunes... so... confused

Just wait; even if it takes an hour.

Next time, don't install a hundred apps before using QuickPwn, k? =P

Well, to do a restore, put it in DFU mode. Plug it into your pc, open itunes, hold the power button and home button till the ipod turns off, then release the power button, but keep holding down home. After 30 seconds or so, itunes will recognize it, and force you to do a restore. If it doesnt work the first time, try it again. It will work eventually

Oops, I had like 30 apps, 3 films, and 1,500 songs.

Is that having something to do with it?

And also, will it definitely restart if I leave it long enough?

    Edit: What's DFU mode?

    I'm a newb

DFU mode is the ipod recovery mode. It basically puts it in a safemode sort of state which allows a frozen up ipod to be restored via itunes. As for your question on waiting like an hour for the jailbreak to work, I'm trying it now... so far, just the frozen pinnapple..(again), but we will see. I have a ton of apps too, so perhaps that it hat is taking so long.

I am then going to try and jailbreak it when there is no apps, videos, music etc on the ipod, so hopefully it doesn't hang

    SUCCESS!

Rebooted in like 20 seconds for me.

After resoring, don't load anything onto the iPod just leave it empty, and it works quickly.

    Then sync
