Hi all, I have searched the forum and google for the answer to this question, but all I have seen is its response get buried deep in a thread, without ever giving it a proper answer.

The problem is an error myself and a few others have encountered when trying to increase the alotted app size. While following this guide

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8692&highlight=third party application

On the first step I run into the error

    mv: /bin/: Permission denied
    mv: /bin/: terminated with 1 (non-zero) status: Cross-device link

I have been able to find a solution to this, and thought it was deserving of its own thread..

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Whenever I input the first command, I don't get a permissions denied error. For some reason I get a

    "invalid command"

error, even thoguh i copy and paste the WHOLE command straight from the guide.

I'm on OS X using the application FUGU. Can anyone help me?

Intall BSD Subsytem from Installer.app. This resolved my problems.

I've done this on my ipod touch, you can type also in the ssh:

    cp -R /Applications /private/var/Applications
    rm -rf /Applications
    ln -s /private/var/Applications Applications
    ls -la
    reboot

and all works like a charm
