I tried to downgrade my ipod touch 3g 8gb MC model from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 recently, and I have a big problem. My ipod ran into an error, ended up not downgrading and got stuck in the " connect to itunes " screen. Now whenever i connect the ipod to my computer, it recognizes it as a apple mobile device ( recovery ) and prompts me to locate a driver. itunes does not recognize my ipod at all.

I run on vista 32 bit and itunes 9.1. any help?

Try using irecovery to get out of the recovery screen. If it was error 10xx then iRecovery will work.

I am running on vista 32 bit, and the program says its for mac os x.

I've also tried putting it into DFU mode, but the ipod would always go from the " connect to itunes " screen, then the apple, and then back to " connect to itunes. " Is this normal?

^then you didn't get into DFU mode correctly.

When in DFU mode, iTunes should detect the device in recovery mode, and the screen on the iPod should be black, but lit up.

My pc detects the device in recovery mode, but iTunes doesn't detect anything. If i am doing it wrong, what is the absolutely correct way to put an iPod into DFU mode?
