    [SOLVED] Backlight STAYING on

Problem 'solved'. Thanks for helping out guys!

I've searched around but can't find the answer.

    My problem
Unlike most people with their back lights shutting off, mine is staying on. The only way to stop this so far that I've found is to leave the iPod OFF. Pressing the sleep button, rebooting, re springing, and anything else hasn't worked so far.

    Other info
Found out my iPod was dead in the morning, and put it on charge, then dying once I had gotten home from a small bus trip from school. Then just before posting this, noticed in the dark that my iPod light was still shining.

    Specs
    First Gen iPod Touch 16GB
    3.0 Firmware

    Main Tweaks Running
    Winter board
    Supreme Preferences
    Clock Hide
    BlankNull
    Reflective Dock

Help with this would be GREATLY appreciated.

It's Supreme Preferences fault. I don't remember the exact setting, but try to disable some of the lockscreen settings.

It's supreme preferences. I know when I removed it a while ago after I gave me a whole bunch of troubles my iPod wouldn't "autolock" and the only way to have it work is to have supreme prferences enabled. Also, for the autolock to function you must have the dimmer set in supreme preferences. If you have it disabled autolock will not function.

    The autolock settings menu in supreme prefences should look something like this;

I don't think yous are understanding. It locks perfectly fine. (I actually HATE the auto lock function)
The back light just stays on............
EDIT: The back light stays on at about 5% brightness.

Well, it's no like a Nano or Classic. The backlick isn't going to shut off unless the screen is turned off. The classic and nano on the other hand have the backlight shut off but the screen stay on. The touch is not like that.

You shouldn't use Supreme Preferences (OS 3.0) anyway - it's buggy.

    That depends.

Recommendation: Uninstall and wait for another preferences extender.

It is supreme preferences. Because it edits alot of files, many of the changes you did with it won't go away after you remove it. And now that you've removed it your pretty screwed, because (as far as i know) it was removed from Cydia, and now you can't install it again to make the necessary changes. One solution that definitely will work is restore and not restoring from backup afterwards.

I don't get why you did not listen to us in the first place.
