Well after the jailbreak I decided to download iPhysics. When I reloaded the springboard after installing it, all the iphone apps were gone. What happened?
EDIT: My ipod suddenly gave me the spinning wheel for about 10 minutes so I restarted (Home+Power) then it went into recovery mode....GRRRR

It also seems that after I just restored it that I can't downgrade to 1.1.1 (it gave me an error).

    Same thing happened to me...

I've decided from here on in, I'll Jailbreak up to 1.1.2, Update Installer, install BSD Subsytem, and VT Term-100, I'll just copy the Dev Team's files over to the root of my iPod, and then in terminal go to the root by typing...

    Code:
    CD \
    Then by typing...
    Code:
    sh install.sh
It Jailbreaks to 1.1.3 after 25 mins.

Then Install Boss Tools and use it.

    DONE!

I was having the same problems as you the key is to follow the instructions carefully since Restore mode does equal Firmware Update mode. Follow the instructions exactly, you'll know if you did right if you get a black blank screen not one with the itunes icone and dock connector because that means you are in restore mode. here is his post:

it worked for me and I am using iTunes 7.6 goodluck

    ianoreo,

I had the same problem. Running iMac with iTunes 7.6. No matter what I tried, I could not get my ipod back to 1.1.2. It keep going into recovery mode at the end of the 1.1.2 jailbreak process forcing me to go back to 1.1.1. I finally found a thread that said to use a program called Independence. I will post the instructions and links I saved. It worked great first time for me. Good luck!

This is not the hole walktrough. You can find that all over the internet. This is how you do the final step if your ipod doenst work after jailbreaking 1.1.2.
A lot of people have problems when they try to jailbreak 1.1.2 with iTunes 7.6. Some people ends up with an iPod in restoremode after jailbreaking 1.1.2.

But you can get it out of that by using a program.

    Windows users:

    First download ibrick: http://www.iphone-hacks.com/download.php?id=37
Start ibrick and select "Boot the phone".

    Mac users:

    Download Independence: http://independence.googlecode.com/f...1.3.2_beta.dmg
Start it. It will search for your device and reboot it. Let it do that twice. Ignore the message saying that i can't find baseband version.
