I got my Touch yesterday and have added 6 albums of mp3s without any problem however I just cannot get it to accept any videos.

I have converted them all to mp4 using media-covert.com.

However I would be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a step by step guide.

Searching the forums I found several threads on converting the vids which I've already done but dragging / dropping them doesn't work as I read on another site; also one post on the forum cited using File > Update Ipod - yet that option is not in my File Menu, only Sync Ipod. Likewise I've tried File > import without success.

Just need some help to get started.

Can anyone help with this ?

I joined the Apple Forums to ask the same question and the reply was in iTunes go File > Open > Select Video > Click OK.

But this is not working for me.

Right click/Ctrl-Click the videos and then proceed to press convert to iPod. Try it.

Videora is a good choice. It's probably the best free converter.

I have same concern as the topic creator.

Anyway, we shouldn't have to convert a video TWICE .

ya i hear that, im currently converting my video a second time...i mean it seems that apple has the power to enforce their sh*tty formats and itunes because of the great hardware. but i have barely filled my ipod b/c its such a hassle to convert all these videos, and i have limited hd space. almost neutralizes that great hardware! they better be enabling disk use in the next update!

I have found that my iPod touch will not accept videos encoded with PQDVD iPod Converter unless they are encoded in MPEG4. H.264 encoded videos do not show up on the iPod. iTunes says that they are synching, but they don't appear on the iPod. I would check the codec you are using for the conversion.

Does anyone know of a free video converter that does not put a watermark or imprint of the software developer on the converted video?? I have yet to find one that is free with no strings attached!
