    i doubt it, unless you want to go with the iphone data plan

    it is possible in the UK, apple sells them on their site unlocked and not tied down to a contract... but that's only if your located in the UK, im not sure about the US.

    that's what I did, got it from apple (UK) and now I'm on £10 p/m with unlimited internet

    Yeah, northern ireland is practically the UK. I live in Ireland. it's 629euro when its released and if theres an unlock, if i unlock it, then sell it after a few years, will i get more profit?

    after few years == you won't get much profit - as soon as a new iPhone comes out, the price of an old one drops......

    urm...
    £499 for 16GB or £599 for 32GB, so yeah, rather costly
