I was thinking about all the bricking issues and came up with some precautions:

    1. Kill all iTunes related processes
explanation: iTunes could interfere by trying to (but not suceeding) sync your iPod. Even if you have auto sync off, I find it still syncs for a brief moment. So avoid all iPod realted processes...

    2. Don't do anything else!
explanation: other processes could use up memory, which could be used for pwnage. Also, its important that you keep the tasks running to a minimum. Those tasks, such as safari, or other browsers, could interfere.

    3. If using a laptop, plug it in. Or if using a desktop, make sure you won't lose power

explanation: pwnage is extremely dangerous if it is interrupted, so the moral is: don't interrupt it if you can!!
Those are my precautions. Let me know what you think..

I had the iTunes App open the whole time and I got it fine.

I was actually listening to Music and Watching the Engadget video lol. Using it to follow the instructions.

I think your MAIN precaution should be PAY ATTENTION.

I think if you are that afraid then you shouldn't even try! I must have had 9 apps running to include iTunes and doing all kinds of other crap while it was building the firmware and installing it.

I'm just saying that a few people got bricked while using safari, so you can never be too careful

The real, and still UNANSWERED Question is:

WHY DO YOU PEOPLE WANT TO PWN?

I mean seriously. 2.0 has no real benefits as of right now.

You people should really just stick to 1.1.4 Jailbroken. And you do NOT NEED PWNAGE FOR THAT.

Just stick with ZiPhone, iLiberty+, and iJailbreak.

Pwnage Tool should be FAR from your List right now.

Amen! If you are looking for something new and exciting in the 2.0 beta.... it's not there. 2.0 beta is very slow, some of the standard apps have very rough edges. The big salvation with pwnage is that after I played with 2.0, I just went to itunes and restored back to my "custom" 1.1.4.

Well, like I may have posted before, I think the benefit to pwning, for me, is that I can restore to a jailbroken firmware in iTunes if necessary.

Currently I just have a pwned 1.1.4 with no additional apps, but when I get some time I plan on creating a pwned firmware with even more apps.

The other thing I like is that I find pwnage to be by far the most stable jailbreak I have ever used.
p.s. Teslanaut- do you ever sleep? ; )
