If the iPod is plugged into my PC and I use it, is it using the battery or the power from the USB to run it? What about when plugged in to the mains charger I have?

Just want to know the power usage since if it's using the power from the PC/charger I may as well save some battery life.

    Thanks in advance.

As long as your computer is turned on it should be running off power through USB. Same with the wall charger.

If your iPod has the battery icon with a lightning bolt through it, it is running off external power.
