I got my iPhone 3GS 2 days ago and I noticed that the power button is recessed farther into the phones casing and especially on the left side if you looking at the phone from the front.
It is very hard to press while in my case.
My 3G had this and I replaced it and my replacement had it too but on 3G it didnt happen for a few months..
My dads 3G does not have this problem and it is about twice has high above the casing as my button is(if that makes sense)
and he has had his phone for 6 months (since Feb.)
should I take it back? the button still works but I really dont want a refurb 3GS since I just payed $400 for this one!

They most likely won't give you a refurb since the 3GS' are still newer.

Sounds like a problem to me?

I wouldn't want my power button messed up.

The button is recessed at one side more than the other because of the weird a** curve on the iPhone. The buttons on the iPhone are pretty recessed on the iPhone (because Apple hates buttons), just look at the volume rocker.

Now that I think about it, my button was somewhat lower that I thought it would be too....

Yes I know the curve of the phones casing makes a difference but I cant press the button the left side where it is more recessed.. Not a real problem because the button still does the function it is supposed to but its annoying
I had heard it was on most of the iPhone's 3GS and 3G

I think I'll get it replaced when it's 6-7 months, since I don't want a refurb now, I just payed $199 for a new iPhone 3GS last week
