So I was changing the cracked glass/digitizer of my iPod Touch, when I realized that the small sensor (pictured below) was missing. Is there any online store where I can only buy that and not the whole circuit board?

If you can't find a replacement...
Soldering a thin wire from there to the power button should to the trick.

what kind of wire? or is there an alternative way of turning on my iPod? and when its on can I use an app or something like that to put it to sleep? I rarely turn my iPod completely off (well at least when it actually turned on), so I just want it to be able to go on stand-by...
  4. I don't see using an app or waiting for it to go to sleep itself working out for you in the long run. You're gonna have to soldier a normal wire I bet. Just don't shut it till it's fixed.

If you use SBSettings you can:
    Turn off your iPod
Lock it (make the screen go black)
    Reboot
    Respring
    etc

    So that's your best bet.
