My son may have got his ipod wet in a sudden downpour. We are trying to dry it out but am considering opening it up and checking for moisture inside,my question is can Apple tell if the ipod has been physicallly opened,is there any anti tamper seal and also can the wet detect par in the headphone socket be changed(it still looks white to me so think it may pass their test)Thanks for any help

Don't turn it on and leave it covered in an open bowl of dry rice in a warm place for a week. If the electronics haven't been fried (usually happens if powered back on while still damp) and the buttons haven't been damaged by water then this procedure is your best bet to bring it back to life.

If you do open it it's usually very difficult to close it firmly again so Apple will probably be able to tell if you have done so.

Also there are two water litmus paper indicators visible w/o opening the iPod touch: in the headphone socket and com connector port. If either of these have turned pink then any warranty is void.

If they are pink, get some whiteout and a small brush or even a hair and go and paint it white again (worked for my friend). But... you should try rice first

Lying is part of life. My parents taught me to follow the rules, Apple tells us not to jailbreak but look where we are

    Human:Hey animal wanna be friends!
    Animal:Sure
    Human:We'll be best friends!
Animal:I Know! Never to kill each other again
Human:Lets go for a walk to the forest
    Animal:Ok
    -Hear cries from distance-
    Human walks back full

My parents taught me to do stuff legally and not go against rules. But you have a jailbroken iPod/iPhone, you went against rules?

Well, it's one thing removing software restrictions, but tampering with the indicators is outright fraud.
