I realize that this topic has been brought up a few times...but...

I have found out that there are in fact Verizon phones available that use SIM cards.
Are these SIM cards only working outside of the US? Or will they work even inside the United States?

If so, you can easily purchase the World Edition: BlackBerry, take out the SIM card, and place it in your iPhone (2g), right?

It seems logical, but I don't have an iPhone/Verizon SIM card to try =[

so the SIM card just basically acts as a converter then, and doesn't actually change how the calls/texts/data/ect are being transferred at all?

The iPhone has a very different type of radio receiver/transceiver than verizon phones use. SIM card has no influence over this.
I know, Verizon is frustrating sometimes in terms of phone selection.

The SIM cards in Verizon phones are actually Vodafone's SIM cards and will only work in Europe.
