I got an ipod touch 2gen, jailbreaked thru redsn0w 0.3 beta

is it possible to have a specific background-image in the ipod?
with that i mean an "image behind all icons on the ipodscreen"

and is it possible to have an image of my own when the ipod "starts up" ?

anyone know if this is possible ??

I would like advice and tips

Well, if you're wanting a background behind the apps and such, all you need to do is install Winterboard from Cydia, then there is an option in Winterboard to set User Wallpaper. Select it then go to your photos and choose an image from your photos (or stock iPod ones) and choose to set as wallpaper.

Typically this set's just the Lockscreen (screen with time and slide to unlock) but with that option enabled on Winterboard, it put's it as the background of your apps as well.

As far as "start up" image, if you mean boot logo (the silver apple that pops up when you boot) then you can download LogoMe and choose an image and it'll set it as your boot logo.

    Hope this helps.

LogoMe is safe ONLY IF YOUR JAILBROKE WITH REDSNOW 0.3. I think it accepts the typical ones (JPEG, PNG, etc.).

Cydia, it's an app, and in order for it to work on the 2G you must have jailbroken using quickpwn 0.3

You can use logome if you jailbroke with redsn0w 0.3. You do not need winterboard to change the wallpaper on the lockscreen, just go into your photos app, go into the photo you want, press on it, hit the button in the bottom left hand corner, and hit set as wallpaper

No, the opposite. redsn0w .3 (or higher) is the only compatible 2nd gen jailbreak method that functions correctly with Logome currently.

If you've applied the winterboard "theme" to enable "User lock background"/"User Wallpaper", then you go into your pictures and click the far left icon at the bottom when viewing a picture, there should be an option to "set as wallpaper" and/or "set as lockscreen", even the ability to re-size and position it for the lockscreen.
