Well it seems to me that Steve Jobs has pulled through, and finally got our attention with the 2.0 firmware. With it only being $10,most people are going to go to the app store. so this could be it, Jailbreaking can finally be done with, and 2.0 might not be jailbreakable, which means no app store for those that wont switch over.(last 2.0 beta that was jailbroken was like 3 or 4 betas ago). So it looks like Steve Jobs has finally gotten us in his pit of doom.
post what you guys think, and please, NO FLAMING

Jailbreaking will always be present just because a majority of us want apps for free.

As for 2.0, it is still too early to have an answer. Just because the beta isn't jailbroken presently doesn't mean much. Things always change.

    Have a little patience.

There is every reason to maintain Jailbreaking: Emulators, apps that skirt legality, and things like Customize 2.0.

While the jailbreaking community may not be as active as it once was, I think we still have a lot of potential for projects like iPhone linux and alternative OS's like Android. I, personally, am very intrigued with things like iPhone linux and the possibility of Android on the iPhone. Meh, maybe it's just me.

Then, there is always the possibility of the App Store apps being cracked.

Whose to say we won't be able to run both types of applications side by side? Have an AppStore and an Installer? It could easily be possible, even without changing current applications and simply adding the necessary sub-systems and binaries and what-not to enable them to run side-by-side.
