Just a concept. Thoughts? Anyone have the $ to test it out? You'd have to use a male-male TRRS connector, not a male-male TRS connector.

Allow you to use a Bluetooth headset with the iPod Touch for VoIP calls

An Apple store rep once told that this could work.. at the same time, he had no idea that the iPod touch had bluetooth bluit into it [ which is why he suggested something like this ].

That might just work! It needs to look a little prettier though. Maybe a case on the device would be cool.

Correct, Apple has disabled Bluetooth microphone functions on the iPod Touch, preventing users from connecting a Bluetooth headset.

A2DP - Listen to music only: Allowed
    HFP - Audio/Microphone: Disabled

Haha, I think that can be arranged.

I wish! I recently spoke to the leading Bluetooth developer, Matthias Ringwold, who wrote BTstack for Cydia. He said that not only does he not know how to incorporate HFP functionality into an app, but the other iDevelopers he talks with don't know either.

Update: The Plantronics Pulsar 260 reportedly has a TRRS connector, possibly making it perfect for this hardware hack! w00t!
