    I found on my ipod where the display order is kept, and it still has the button bar array, therefore I think you can add more than 4 icons to it. Not sure though. Thoughts? The big bold text towards the end is the button bar (dock) code
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">

    It's always been possible to add more than 4 dock icons. All you do is add another app link under the dock icon section.

    I tried it. It sort of worked. It messed up the rest of my display order. I think it was because I had to use the plist->xml converter, which made the plist about 10 times bigger.

    But, it is definitely how the display order is stored.

    hmm ok but did your app wiggle and move function work? like when you move one of the 5 dock icons out, will it work if you try to drag it back in?
