Is this possible? To get mail.app from 4.0 beta (I am UDID registered so I can copy and paste things if you want) and copy it to 3.1.3 on my ipod touch?

I'm looking to enjoy the benefits of threaded inbox and fast inbox switching etc on 3.1.3

Yeah, wait a month and upgrade the firmware. Really doubt that an app would get re-written to a different OS when you can just upgrade to the new one and use it. 0.o

I'd like not to wait. Which is why I asked this question.

Thanks for nothing and having nothing helpful to comment.

Your welcome, But really think of this quote "Patience is a virtue." Wait for official release, and you'll get what you want, you had to wait 9 months to be born, don't think it'll kill you to wait maybe 4 weeks for the release. And since your registered, why not just update and use the beta? By beta 3 most of the bugs are all fixed and such.

Mail in 4.0 uses 4.0 APIs, so it probably won't work on 3.1.3.

First off, this is a waste of someone's time.. Like it was said before "Why port and do all the work to make a next generation App work with the old generation software?". I mean really, think about it... In a month and a couple days time you can spend a good 30-60 minutes downloading the new firmware, depending on how good your internet connection is, and install it. Then you have all those new features, or at-least the ones supported for your device.

You don't need to be so rude, it's a forum, he posted what he wanted to say and that's that..

Guys, he asked a question. He just wants an answer. Don't be so rude. Maybe he doesn't feel like waiting a month to get the ONE feature he really wants. If you don't have anything helpful to say, then don't post.

To the op: try changing the firmware version in the mail info.plist and try to make it match the ones for 3.1.3.

    @ OP
devs are not gonna work on this, as it would be a waste of their time, they have more important things to worry about, just be patient 4.0 is just a few weeks away
