Is there a way to create a pop-up message that will show up on the Springboard upon startup? I would like this just in case my touch is lost, so I can provide information to contact me, if the person is honest and wants to find the true owner.

I want the pop-up message to be like one that says "Download failed!" or like that, and then an "Okay" button to close out.

Well, I don't know about the pop-up, but you could always make the start-up slider have something like: "Contact: (123) 456-7891" or something like that as the text

Yeah, I have it like that now. I just figured it would be more nagging for the pop-up to show for the person every time. I personally wouldn't mind, since I always use Sleep.

Or, if the "finder of your iPod" uses it for long enough, you could change the low battery pop-up to something like that, but that, too, is pretty convoluted.

I never messed with that, but under /System/Library/LaunchDaemons and /Library/LaunchDaemons, you have plist files of daemons launched when the iPod boots. I guess that by adding a file you could add an application that waits a little bit (to make sure SpringBoard has started) then displays a pop-up.

Hmm. Sounds like it would work. Could someone please assist me with this? I would be very grateful.

You could make an event in your calendar for every single day that reads "Contact - ..." and have it remind you each day.
