ok i have gone through a number of ipod touches now, due to numerous amounts of problems. the first 2g ipodtouch i got was had a light leak all the way around the ipod. returned it. the new one i got still had light leaks so i returned it again. the third one i now have for some reason lets me push the corners up and down. the touch i currently have now is finally perfect. has anybody else experienced poorly made ipods. im not saying i dont like the new touches, i love the new luxuries it now has, im just really disappointed how nany hardware defects are in them. none of the 1g touches i have seen have had single fault.

that's why i will never go for the 2G, i was very lucky i had the 1G.

it was like 1 month before the 2G will be out.

i was so fortunate, i bought the 1G on its last release.

yeah a lot of people have been complaining about light leaks and loose corners... hope i dont get that when i buy mines 0_0

also, the 1gs did have a defect
when first released they had that thing where they couldnt display dark pics (fixed by software update)

as for hardware, some peoples home buttons are crappin out.

no hardware can be perfect, but apple can fix what they can...

No problems with that, but I had an annoying dead pixel in an area that was distracting.

The replacement seems to be solid.. Hope it stays that way.

Little do people know that you can still purchase the 1G iPod touch straight from Apple even today.

They are refurbished, but practically brand new, and hence cheaper as well. My sister got the refurbished 1st gen 16GB iPod touch for $219 a few weeks ago, it's hacked and sparkling.

I agree with what you mean. I am happy with my 1G, but maybe later when a JB is made will I go with the 2G iPod touch.
