ps: I tried ssh into app and changing permissions to 775 but didnt help either. really dont wanna jailbreak it again.

Check all the applications folders in mobile: if one of them has no .app file it can cause a crash, IIRC as there's a folder for the AppStore program but no program inside. Use SSH to delete the dead/empty folder and try Poof.

So you went into /var/mobile/Applications/<whatever> and found MobileFinder.app or whatever else in each one? Sounds like you're heading for a Restore - if it's failing to Enumerate all the applications, I'd have thought there'd be ONE application (AppStore) that had a directory and entry, but no <something>.app file. Tried the ones in /var/stash? Seeing if they all had applications?

ya, i think i would have to restore. I don't have time now so I guess I will wait for fw2.10 or w/e to come out before doing it. I will just bear with all the unneeded icons for now. anywayz thx 4 your help!!

You can either install and uininstall it or use BossPrefs.

If he's getting an error enumerating applications, it'll crash BossPrefs too - it and Poof uses basically the same code to do what they do. I'll bet there's a directory problem somewhere which is doing it - since one issue is that if iTunes does a bad restore or doesn't completely remove an AppStore application, it'll leave the folder the app was in on the device, and when Poof tries to enumerate (read) the plist for that application... the plist doesn't exist as the /Application.app directory isn't there, and it crashes.
