Avoid themes - no memory problem.
Do not fill it up with all the goodies from cydia. Install only those you really need
    I have mine running perfectly.

The battery usage quickens when using themes ssh and categories, but thats the only thing i usually notice.

I've been jailbroken since the day untethered was released. Mine has crashed maybe 2 or 3 times where it rebooted into safe mode. Each time this happened when I was installing/uninstalling something or messing around with themes. Other than those few incidents I've had no problems whatsoever.

Agreed, I sometimes go through Cydia and uninstall all the tweaks I don't need, my iPod is running great.

I've been Jailbroken since a week after the tethered jailbreak was released. My iPod runs just like it did before the Jailbreak. The only app that ever crashes on me is Cydia.

It's not about avoiding themes, its about avoiding Winterborad, the customize.app does nothing.
