    yeah so, what's better

Spearow learns more powerful attacks earlier,
But Pidgey is the way to go for long term gameplay

eh rly, 'cos someone told me to get rid of my pidgey and use spearow 'cos he learns mirror move and wing attack and all that

and pidgeys normal type so he's not rly good at anything, but spearow/fearow = flying

plus fearow sounds way cooler than pidgeot

    needs more opinions!

Well when I used to play, I always used Spearow/Fearow. They get more powerful moves earlier, which actually pays off in the long run because you can start winning with them sooner than you can with Pidgey and its evolutions. However, Fearow and Pidgeot are pretty equally matched at high levels, so it really depends on how soon you want good moves.

Pidgey and Spearow are both Flying/Normal. Don't listen to that guy, he's a noob.

And Pidgey and its evolutions do learn Wing Attack and Mirror Move.

EDIT: Fearow can't learn Wing Attack.

It's really just a choice of whether you want your power now or later. Fearow will not hold up against the Elite Four.
