No, I realize that a lot of the code is copied over...but how much? I mean, is there still a ton of 1.x code lingering in 5.x? I would think that most of the code is rewritten for the major releases and only tweaked for the minor releases.
Try taking your jailbroken device to an Apple store and asking them to fix it if it has a problem. They won't. Jailbreaking voids your warranty, and if you restore before taking it in to the Apple store, you're lying. I just don't want to void my warranty. The device is elegnt and amazing without the jailbreak in the first place. Read this: www.gottabemobile.com/2011/11/14/5-reasons-you-shouldnt-jailbreak-your-iphone-4s/
First of all, I know what jb is. Secondly, you gotta do what you gotta do. Its not bad if you restore a jb'ed iDevice and return it. Well the 4S is kind of useless to jb anyway because of Siri. But more reasons to jailbreak a 4S is reasonable than to not take the advantage of fully bringing out the iDevice's potential. And who cares if we lie? Since when has society cared about lies? You can't lie if the evidence never existed.
Most of the genius bar guys I know could give less of a sh*t about Jailbroken devices. Jailbreaking is simply a modification to software, not hardware, its not like its permeant. It's not lying if a jailbreak isn't present, you're wrong. On topic: Most of the people voting for 5.1 are ignorant 11 year olds who want their new iPod touch jailbroken because they didn't know better about updating it. If he lets rip on iOS 5.1 so be it but there will still be ungrateful f***s who demand an iOS 6 jailbreak 10 weeks later. Gimme a break.
WWDC isn't too far away and chances are Apple will release iOS 6 then. I can easily wait that time. P.S.: My 4S is currently on 5.1 and thus not jailbroken.
People who know what they are doing would still have 5.0.1 if they wanted to have a jailbreak, I don't want exploits wasted on an update that only gives you a "slide to camera" I don't want a major update being stuck tethered/non-jailbreakable for most devices Also who agrees that iOS 5.1 was a rather pointless update?
thats your fault then, if theres a problem you can't fix then restore it THEN send it in. You can remove the jailbreak as simple as the settings app or just restore it in itunes. Also once you experience what jailbreaking can offer...theres no going back....there just isn't. I can't stand stock ios.
They would probably just show it off, then release betas. We wouldn't see it until next device release most likely.
