I don't really get what it does, it saves battery life or something?

It allows you to pause/play and skip tracks by simply touching the screen in a certain way. It eliminates the need for you to fish your ipod out of your pocket just to pause.

Certainly helpful, especially if your device is in your pocket, hence the name PocketTouch.

    Works well with playlists, too.

especially helpful when you have a rubber case on the ipod that refuses to slide on anything. :I

But NOBODY is that cruel to their iPod Touch that they'd keep it without "protection" in their pockets. As for me, i use the sock, so i would have to take it out of my pocket anyway...

i think its a bit pointless when you can tap home twice to get the controls on the screen, or you can buy the apple in-line remote/radio reviever like i have.

yes you can just tap home twice, but how does that help you if its in your pocket? did you memorize where the buttons are? can you change the volume without having to guess where the slider is? haha

i think this is the best app made so far, the most helpful at least.

Ummm, it would be a lot tougher to tap home twice and then guess where the play/pause/next track button is if the ipod is in your pocket.

This app is not for you if you don't mind fishing it out of you pocket but it makes perfect sense to those of us who want to do something else while listening and the ipod being away.
