That's not the problem. The older GPU lacks the required horsepower and physical parts to use OpenGL ES 2.0. The new GPU is much faster and has stream processors which are needed for OpenGL 2.0...the MBX Lite lacks this.

    The permissions for 1. & 2. shouldn't be set to 755
iOS reject all writable .plist coz of some security reasons

    BTW, that's total useless
    7-zip can compress the swapfile0 into a 37kb .7z file
which means it doesn't contain any data.

I used this on my iPod touch 4G on iOS 4.1, it crashes when my RAM goes below 50 and resprings into safe mode.

    iOS 4.3.2

I applied all the dynamic pager files and 90% of the times i release memory, it hungs and resprings in safe mode. I had to remove the files, it was unbearable. I believe this issue is due to the poor memory management from iOS 4.3.1. and 4.3.2.

Any suggestions? Is there something else I need to do and im not aware of it?

    Thxs in advance.

i installed this successfully-ish today, but with the same result as PurpleShad0w:
i have a 512 swapfile in my /vm folder, but my phone only shows a maximum of 84megs of RAM.
also, it often goes as low as 32 without creating another swapfile. true story.

    512 plist
    iphone 3g
    16 gig
    4.2.1

game apps like dragooo show improvement (don't judge).
if anyone can understand the significance of 84 megs, or why it's not displayed, please voice up.

    cheers,

Bit of an old thread, but i'll give my results.

On a 4th Generation Touch, on 4.3.3, I can report that this... Sort of works. I'm no stranger to virtual memory, used to use it all the time with my old Linux systems. Currently have a 2gb partition of my laptop serving as swap space for Ubuntu.

Using the 512mb swap file, I noticed an incredible lack of lag in Infinity Blade (always had to use Safe Mode to play, I have too many tweaks), and Dream:Scape will actually load! (has a nasty memory bug, only plays on iPhone 4 at the moment).

However, as expected, iOS threw a fit and crashed to safe mode. Strangely, I was greeted with a screen that warned me that my device's temperature was too high. The safe mode popup came up, and respringing just crashed it again. I did a hard reboot, and removed the files, and it's back to normal.

Maybe we'll find a way to make this work reliably on iOS 5, no sense in wasting time on 4.3.x
