    Hello there. I am new to editing property lists and would like some help please. I want to edit com.apple.dynamic_pager.plist. I would like to know if there are commands to setting a limit to the paging file and find a way to stop it crashing sometimes when I free memory.

    Here is the code I will highlight some stuff but refer to above paragraph to some other stuff I would like to know.
    Code:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    	[B]<key>KeepAlive</key>
    	<true/>[/B]
    	<key>Label</key>
    	<string>com.apple.dynamic_pager</string>
    	[B]<key>OnDemand</key>
    	<false/>[/B]
    	<key>ProgramArguments</key>
    	<array>
    		<string>/sbin/dynamic_pager</string>
    		<string>-F</string>
    		<string>/private/var/vm/iphone_swap</string>
    	</array>
    	[B]<key>RunAtLoad</key>
    	<true/>[/B]
    	<key>UseEncryptedSwap</key>
    	<false/>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    The bold stuff and how to set a limit to the paging file and stop crashes when free memory is what I want to learn and know. The bold commands are very important

    Also, does encryption effect anything?

    I also hate it when my questions go unanswered.

    I take it your doing a VM mod but your device keeps crashing when you free memory, yes?

    Yes, true, two of my questions and one has no comments or anything. F***! Yes I am doing a VM mod, I wanna set a limit to the paging files. And some other stuff. I don't know much about commands so I am just going to learn by experience. I am also ripping apart the chinese VM mod and seing whats inside.

    I remember seeing something on this a couple of months ago but I'm not interested in doing a VM mod so I didn't pay much attention, I'll have a look.

    EDIT: Can't find it. But I do remember that there was a method that allowed you to set an amount of memory (I think). Which is what you are looking for. I think the thing which makes the method you used unstable is that you can't specify the amount of memory for the paging files.

    Not much help, but I tried.

    I tried to DIY it without any experience, I put <string>128 megs in bytes</string> under sbin and some other stuff. It stuff up and then now it stopped working,I am deleting all vm files and trying again.

    I also have virtually no experience but try adding:
    Code:
    <key>megs</key>
    <string>128</string>
    I doubt it would work. You could also try changing megs to other things (memory?).

    You'll probably need to restore. Otherwise, if it's a .plist, google it using the filetype operator with [PIRACY.mu]/[PIRACY.rs]/[PIRACY.mf] keywords.
