I had to force restart my iPod touch, now all i get when i turn it on is a lot of quite fast moving script ending in a repeating message saying "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0"

it is also not recognised when i connect it to my computer.

Is this a firmware problem and is my iPod completely Un-savable?!?!

    any help is much appreciated!!

Put it in DFU Mode With iLiberty or Ziphone.

    And then restore in iTunes.

    Enter DFU Mode and restore.

You can enter DFU mode by

    1) Turn on the ipod.

    2) Hold the home and power button for about 11 seconds or until it shuts off.

    3) exactly 2 seconds after it shuts off let go of the power button and continue holding the home button for about 30 seconds or until the computer recognizes it.

    4) Restore to a fresh 2.1.

Also, it is good to ask questions. Searching sometimes does not help. Hope this helps though.
