My 32gig, 3rd gen, jailbroken, tethered, ipod touch, has been having some issues. I believe it to be bricked. It will not respond at all, and i have tried everything. DFU mode doesnt work, and when I plug it into the Computer Itunes recognizes it right away but as an iphone. When I try to reeboot it it says software unavailable, please make sure you have latest version of itunes, but i do. Also when I press shift reboot, and select firmware wich i have tried all 3g firmware it doesnt work either it says not compatible. Reinstalling Itunes didnt work, using another USB port didnt work, using a different Usb Cable didnt work, using a different PC dident work. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

you cannot brick an ipod. the only way an ipod can fully be broken is through a hardware error. an ipod can always be DFU restored
