I was using the facebook app on my phone when it suddenly froze. Since this happens quite often, I turned off my phone the way that has alsways worked, by holding down both the power and home button. Sadly, this time when I turned it back on the usb chord and itunes label showed up. How do I get out of restore mode. Erasing and starting over is not an option. My phone is 3G running firmware 2.0.2

    Thanks

First off, why are you still on 2.0.2?

Second, just hold down Home and Sleep until the Apple logo shows up, no worries.

I held them down and it went to the apple and then right back to the connect to itunes screen. I think it is doomed

Try holding them until the springboard shows up, cuz I've gotten out of restore a handful of times.

this happened to me and i tried a bunch of programs but nothing worked.
although, try someting like ibrickr, or ziphone, or something like that., they are supposed to be able to kick your iphone back into regular mode. give them a try.

There's always the option of restoring... I know you down want to, but you have an old firmware, UPGRADE!

I am actually on 2.2. Ziphone does nothing, and ibrickr does nothing either. I am just frustrated because im gonna lose pictures that are not on my computer, and have to spend more time messing with this stupid phone. How can you just try to turn off you phone and then not be able to use it?

you can't ssh if there is no ip address, considering my phone is non-functional
