    Okay,

I updated to 3.0 and it went without a hitch. Then I noticed that most of my apps and other stuff had gone...

I guess that this is because of everything that was hidden due to Categories in JB.

I had planned on doing a restore anyway, so I plugged back into iTunes and hit the restore button and let it do its thing. Now, I am stuck on an screen that is only letting me make emergency calls. When connected to iTunes it tells me that there is no network or something (obviously there is else I couldn't post here!)

What's happened and how do I fix it?

    Many thanks,

Tried that, doesn't seem to do anything!

The actual message I am getting is -

I am able to transfer music to the iPhone but, this error always occurs when I select the iPhone under Devices...

Yeah, I need to get it so that I can re-enable images in safari and also unhide my apps and stuff.

any time you restore, you need to "activate it via the sim" or you would need to run the jailbreak and make sure to check the box for "activate" and you should be fine.

Apple is having issues with their activation server. Same problem here and many others aswell. A bit overwhelmed I guess...
