ok sorry im a nub with ipods =[

i just wanted to know some things. i jailbreaked my 1.14 ipod

but i heard the Itunes App store is better. do i need to buy 2.1 version or can i get it for free?

i was told to purchase it by the iTunes program so i declined and it said i could download 1.1.5 version. should i download it? will it delete the jailbroken apps that i have on my ipod? and if i download 1.1.5, will i have to jailbreak it again?

ahah sorry so many questions im clueless.

    1. The App Store is better in my opinion.
    2. You need the Firmware 2.0 update in order to have the App Store.
    3. Firmware 2.0 costs $9.95 through iTunes, and obtaining this firmware other ways is illegal and not to be discussed on iPodTouchFans. All updates (including 2.1) are free afterwards.
    4. Firmware 1.1.5 is free, but is only an update to Firmware 1.1.4 and does not include the App Store. Installing Firmware 1.1.5 will remove any jailbreak you previously had, although Firmware 1.1.5 can be jailbroken afterwards.

Also, if you're going to update to Firmware 2.1, it can also still be jailbroken. You'll have the normal App Store, along with the jailbroken Installer/Cydia as well. This way you can have a mix of App Store applications along with jailbroken applications.
