if you read the top i said that the computer regesters my ipod touch as a malfunctioning usb device.... meaning itunes doesn't know it is an ipod and it won't respond to home or sleep/turn off buttons i've tried mostly everything

That means you're not doing DFU mode right.

Power for 3 seconds, then keep holding power and hold down both buttons for 10 seconds. Release power and hold home until recognized. That's what the redsnow wizard says

    .

Anyways since DFU probably isn't the problem, perhaps your USB controller is.

No, you should not see the apple boot logo when you are trying to get into DFU mode.

    DFU Mode
    1. Hold sleep/wake and home buttons for 10 seconds
    2. Let go of sleep/wake button and keep holding home button
    3. Continue to hold the home button for 8-10 seconds

The screen should stay black through this whole process
