Okay, so I know I said goodbye and all, but I have a major problem.

    1. My home button stopped working.
    2. Shortly after, my screen stopped responding.
    3. I can't get into DFU because my home button stopped working.
    4. It's not as bad as it sounds...

So, after my screen stopped responding, I successfully restored to stock 2.2. I'm going to take it to the Apple Store on Friday, when I get the time, but until then, I want to use my iPod (which can be done marvelously with SBSettings' Close Application toggle).

So anyway, I restored to stock 2.2, and I wanted to be able to use my iPod again (SBSettings). As you know, this requires a jailbreak. But unfortunately, I can't get into DFU mode without the home button! Does anybody know a way to get into DFU mode without the home button so I can use my iPod?

I know ZiPhone can force it into DFU if you are on 1.1.x

but I'm not sure if Winpwn shares the same command for 2.x

I'm using a mac... so Pwnage Tool. Quickpwn also requires DFU mode. Pusher doesn't work on iPod touches for some reason.

EDIT: AngelSynth, I try using ZiPhone to get into DFU.

Hey nice to see ya still around!
When I had my 1g, my home button stopped working as well. I've heard of people taking it apart and fixing it, but I wouldnt do that....Just take it back to the apple store and see what they can do

Spoony I told you that you weren't going to leave. LOL OMG dude.

ok just take it to Apple store and get a replacement.

If you don't get a replacement. Open it and fix it. If you don't want to fix it. Sell it on ebay.

    OR......

    yeah that's all I got.

Yes, Ziphone does recovery not DFU on 2.0.

1.) First download the required archive http://www.sendspace.com/file/93fx93

2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/

3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

    4.) Goto Start - run

    5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”

6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen

7.) Now you may proceed to downgrade!
