    Device:
    2G iPod touch
You need the video cable made especially for the Ipod touch, video cables for older generation video Ipods will not work with Ipod touch

the touch needs the cables apple sells (the new kind i guess) because they have a chip that unblocks the video

i have heard that the new firmware 1.1.3 allows regular cables to do it, but you also cant jailbreak 1.1.3 yet

well you dont have to return them, wait until 1.1.3 is jailbroken then you have a reson to update, then u can use the cables u have now

btw, the special cables cost 50 bucks

I don't consider myself an expert but I did a bit of research before spending £35 on the cable.

Apparently all older ipods had the video connecter located in the headphone socket.

The ipod touch has the video connecter located in the dock connecter. Thats why old cables wont work.

As far as I could find out the idea of a chip stopping it or a firmware upgrade fixing it are wrong.

    Hope that helps.

P.S two versions of the new cable available..
    1. Composite - Yellow, Red, White (all coming from the dock)
    2. RGB - Red, Green & Blue (for video) and a red & white (for audio)

    Hi.

It's not the dock you need, allthough I'd imagine one will become available.

It's a ipod touch video cable with dock conector you need.

I paid £35 ($70) but you may get them cheaper where you're from.

We always get ripped off here in Britain.
