Features r awesome but design looks ugly, just like a classic nintendo touchscreen mobile
You know this most likely could be real too, about 2 or 3 months ago, a rumor got out that Sony was making a gaming device that would either run Gingerbread or Froyo. I didn't expect the phone part though.
But hey, im looking at exactly what I read; a gaming device running Android 2.2 [ Unless Gingerbread has the same lockscreen. ]
Sony stepping their game up.
Think of it this way, who would pay 20 to 40$ for one app when you can get a iPhone and get thousands of quality games free.
The multitouch trackpad in the middle is the joystick.
So you probably didn't know this, but Android has several free or .99 cent games already available, and Sony already has great cheap downloadable games available.
Yeah, I think phones and hardcore gaming really just don't mix. I have very few games for my Touch, an I almost never play them unless it's charging, otherwise my iPod would be drained six times a day. I can only imagine not having my phone avilable because I drained it by playing massive games.
I'd rather stick to my iPhone and PSP go. the design doesn't seem as "smooth" as the go.
Doesn't even really look made by Sony, except for the typical shape buttons.
Pretty cool nonetheless, but I doubt it will get many sales.
Well the iPhone has done pretty good when it comes to mobile device gaming, its been a ridiculous success. With Sony, they claimed the PSP is for "big boy games", so maybe Sony is coming with a device that lets you play big boy games and text your grandma.
In all honesty I've been looking for an Android phone and the 3DS next year, or some new and random gaming device, but if Sony really comes out with this, the Droid X just might have to kiss my .. rings. If this thing can run PS1 games without the use of an emulator, or without sh*tting away the battery life, hopefully I'll love it. Maybe it'll have to be converted into an .apk like they had to be converted into .PBP's before...
