I have a playlist of my favorite songs, it contains of songs rated 4 & 5 stars only. I'm sure most of you do.
It used to be ordered by Artist, which pleased my OCD-ness

I recently upgraded to iTunes 9 and now it's all out of order.
I don't even think there is an order at all, it looks like it is randomly ordered.

Please, please help. I want to get it back to the order it used to be in, its much easier to search for songs that way.

    This sucks.
    ...A lot.

    Thanks in advance ._.

Try clicking on the artist listing on the top of the status bar thing. And also see if shuffle is on, if it is, turn it off, and that will fix your problem.

Easy problem to fix. You have to make sure the shuffle setting on that playlist is turned off in iTunes. THEN you sync, and your iPod should show the playlist in order. You see, when you sync your iPod to iTunes while iTunes has a shuffled playlist, it will sync shuffled.

Un-shuffled every playlist, tried duplicating the playlist, tried making a new smart playlist with the same properties.. nothing. still unorganized?

Along the top bar, there should be a whole bunch of options for sorting your music. Click on the one that says artist and you can toggle having it in increasing or decreasing alphabetical order.

    EDIT: Here

Is it unordered in iTunes, or on your iPod after syncing? If it's on your iPod, I have this too, I think it's a common problem. I've seen other people with this problem as well.

Natesterizer, I've tried that many times, believe me.

Chris, it's unordered on my iPod after syncing, same as you.

Did you try right clicking on the playlist in itunes and selecting "copy to play order"?
