i keep getting an error saying warning:cannot write scoreboard file record and then ...Can't find file perm lock! maybe i did something wrong. i didnt really understand this part of the guide: " Go to Applications/Finder.app Use the "su" command and the working password to change to root Type "./Finder" to launch the Finder as root move to the folder, nethack is stored (switch all options in properties on) Modify it's user rights, so that all can execute it."
ok i got rid of the other error but im still getting this "cant find file perm to lock!" any ideas how to fix this ?
fixed it i just didnt unpack the nethack folder. Also i found out you can connect to telnet servers and play through that altough the controlls are odd type in terminal "telnet nethack.alt.org"
Is there a way to play wizard mode? It would seem to mean establishing a new user named wizard, but I'm not sure how...
The only thing i dont understand is how can we do Ctrl + a letter when there is no Ctrl on the iPhone ? (i havent installed it yet) EDIT : It's installed, and it works. Just a problem : to kick, you have either to press [k] or to press Ctrl + [o] There is no num pad, so [k] doesn't work, and there is no Ctrl key, so it's impossible to kick =( I tried to look in every single file, but I couldn't find a place where it would be possible to rebind keys. Ans, by the way, is there a way to have a character named differently as mobile ? I changes the "name" line in the opthelp file with a name, or player, but it doesn't work at all
Very cool I just got told about nethack by a friend and love to try this out on my Ipod. Any way to get Vulture's Eye Nethack?
So say most before they get sucked in... the gameplay here is amazing - I've been playing this game for 15 years and I'm not bored with it yet
nethack If you never played NetHack its hard to understand what is so great about it. Instead of working on graphics (which would be out of date a few months later anyways), the makers have been refining the gameplay for the last 10 years. If you play it on your PC you can get better graphics for it, but the game is not about that. You can do ANYTHING in this game. And its randomly generated, so each time you play much of it is different. Its a HARD game too, it doesnt cut you any slack at all. A refreshing change from games today that hand you everything. If you can finish NetHack, you are truly a hardcore gamer. I'm hoping my iPod photo will break so I can get a Touch and have it on the go!
