    I found it rather stupid that you can't play video clips through your ipod touch when iphone users can. Although i found that on the Apple Trailers website you can view trailers on your ipod touch. So after a little bit of research i figured out what the container was that apple was using to allow the touch to play embedded videos and this is what it is.

    <div id="movie-container">
    <embed href="<--http link to video .mp4 or .m4v-->"
    target="myself"
    width="320" height="133"
    controller="false"
    autoplay="false"
    scale="1" cache="true"
    type="video/quicktime"
    pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/">
    </div>

    Its pretty simple all you need to do is replace the "<--http link to video .mp4 or .m4v-->" with your video link and it should embed in to your html page just fine. I've downloaded videos straight from google in mp4 and had them work just fine. If your looking to convert videos to m4v you can use quicktime pro's export feature, just export the video as a iphone video it works great

    anyways hope this has helped!

    Also it needs to be a DIRECT link. you can't just put the html file in /bla/bla and have the video file in the same directory and link it as bla.mp4, you've gotta link it as http://www.yourlink.com/bla/bla/bla.mp4

    ok?

    many movies are embeded using the above mentioned method. i think entering a url directly to the movie will work too.

    iPhone 4 (Black)
    Any content that is native to Quicktime can be played on Safari on the iPod Touch. If it is embedded, it will have an icon on the lower right of the video to start it and put it in fullscreen.

    not true, not all Quick Time formats are formatted for the iPoT.

    for example, a 1080P video would not work on the iPoT cause it cant handle that res.

    just look for the .mp4 extension
