    Is it possible?

I'm looking at buying an iPhone but I want a clean system yet using another network service provider thus the question of buying an unlocked iPhone. I don't wanna jailbreak since games run smoother that way and I reboot my device after every sync and install every time I purchase a game which is probably on a daily basis.

Will I have no problems installing and syncing my games from my iTunes in my Mac if I have an unlocked iPhone?

You are wrong. OP you can buy an unlocked iPhone, but they cost big $$$. You won't need a jailbreak ever for it, and any compatible SIM will work in it.

It's possible, you can get a factory unlocked one. The only places I've seen them is online, and they are ridiculously priced; around $800-1000.

well to not pay major cash for it, no it isnt possible, and you can jailbreak and have no problems, just dont install a lot of jailbroken apps if your not after that stuff and think it causes problems.. and be very careful of updates, or u will lose ur unlock capability unless someone finds a new hole in the baseband, which may not ever happen, in which case youre screwed.. lol

    Sweet!!! Nice responses guys!

The 3GS iPhone available in my area have ridiculous prices so I'm guessing these are the unlocked ones and I can use any SIM I wish for it. I'm just worried about alll the software repercussions and need to know the proper info before I dive in.

So does that mean I shouldn't ever Update and just use the firmware version it ships with? I also shouldn't restore it?

    How about rebooting? No problems?

Just because they are ridiculously priced, doesn't mean they are unlocked

You should make sure, ask to put your sim card in or something. If you get a factory unlocked iPhone, then you can update and restore all you want. But if it's just software unlocked, then if you update/restore, you'll lose the unlock. Rebooting isn't a problem.
