pim functions

    hey to start out im just letting everyone know that im new to this forum. i am very interested in the touch. i currently use a ipod nano gen 2 and a sony clie th55. both items are going on amazon soon. anyways... can u just type in text on the touch? or schedule events? on the touch, not on the pc...

    welcome to the thunderdome... im lord exaviar and to my left are my goonies, dweezel and blanket.

    well, the iPoT (as i have been known to call it) does not have true PIM functionality. it can view dates, but not add them, where as it can view and add contacts. it does not have a to do list or a note section.

    Hi,

    Yes, you can just type in text in the calendar - schedule events, even have it set an alarm to remind you (did does come with a tiny built in speaker) so you do hear the alarm; no need to use headphones. It will then just sync up with Outlook or whatever calendar program you specific to sync up with.

    Only wish it came with a note pad or something to take notes in. Other than that.. it's a great, cool gadget! Go get one.

    incorrect, you may not, at this time, add appointments into the iCal mobile from the iPoT, and the alarm fails to sound when it goes off...

    I just had something unepected happen. My iPoT beeped to tell me that my 900 meeting, that was synced from Outlook is 15 mins away. It was on sleep mode and woke up to tell me my meeting was upcoming with a little beep. I didnt know that....

    There is hope...

    Sorry.. my bad.. i thought you could type in an event into the calendar. Bummed that you can't now
