I use Pidgin as an alternative to YIM. It's never crapped out on me until today. Upon trying to log in...it doesn't. None of the accounts get enabled/connected, and I'm always getting the "Connecting...." text accompanied with the spinning wheel.

I haven't changed the Firewall settings or anything, plus I uninstalled + re-installed GTK + Pidgin. What should I do?

Try Digsby. If that still doesn't work, then check your Passwords.

Digsby works, and it looks pretty good. I just don't understand what could be wrong with Pidgin....the same problem persisted with MirandaIM, too.

Have you tried running it as an administrator?

You think that's weird? Try signing on for 1 minute and pidgin telling you, you've been signed on for 7 days and 21 hours. Pidgin is buggy as hell, use digsby, its customizable.
