I have a couple of pictures that I need to add to my iPod to use as wallpapers.
They get all screwed up when I sync them with iTunes.

Where can I put them so they are full resolution (or close to it) and can be used as a wallpaper? More so, where is the Wallpapers directory located?

Add them to photos in Itunes. Then you can use any photo as wallpaper. Itunes will adjust resolution though of the pictures but they should be ok.

If you want it in the General>Wallpaper or whatever section of ur settings, simply SSH into ur ipod and go library, wallpaper. Add the photo in there, and you dont need to change permissions, but it has to be .png. Now restart the ipod touch in your possesion and viola!

I got a solution similar to yours. I added the pictures to Wallpaper.app and that added them to my Wallpapers under Settings.

    All good.
