I don't see why people are saying picture quality is going to suck...

This picture below is 960 x 720 pixels, the same that the iPod Touch will take.

iPod Touch Fans automatically downscales the picture, so check out the original

    Check it out!

This has led me to believe the iPod Touch will take really great pictures

Uhhh... I don't get it. That's not a real pic, and it doesn't look that good anyways.

I thought it took 5 megapixel pictures, and 960x720 was the video res.

Look at the updated post with real pictures. The picture size is more than enough to produce an amazing photograph, and Apple's software will help on the other end.

Not sure if these pics are anything to go by but even so, I doubt the picture quality will be unbearable. If you can't make out a friend smiling when you take their picture on a less-than-a-MP camera, you're messed up haha

He's solely referring to the size of the pictures, not the content. I 150% agree with the OP. Most of the time, the places where I would upload photos (Facebook, etc) will drastically resize them anyway, so I'm much more concerned about the quality rather than the megapixel count.

Agreed. I've never used a photo of my own as a wallpaper or anything so no worries for me.

I'm not all that concerned about photo quality. In my opinion, it's just an added bonus. Plus, HD video makes up for it.
