Picture file size question

    I have a folder with about 370 pics and the total size is 70mb. When its uploaded to the iPot it marks the size up 200% at 237.2mb, a 167.2mb difference. Its always been like this but I always wondered why.

    i have no idea but that is a great question.
    maybe it is shrinking makes it a bigger file i dont know
    but thats ny best guess

    Maybe it could be that the iTunes is changing the File Format of the image. If you had JPEGS, it might be converting them to PNG(A better format by the way), which are much bigger. This could also answer the question about GIFs not working.

    Note: I don't know for sure if iTunes does convert the image to PNG, it's an guess. But it would explain a lot.
